6 Month Hiatus

It says that February was the last time that I posted something on this blog. That sounds about right. Once I started posting pictures on Facebook, I got out of the habit of updating the blog. Besides, I figure nobody really reads this anyway. I'm not an eloquent writer and my life is pretty mundane. Well, while in Florida on vacation, I was reprimanded by both my mother and my little brother for not keeping the blog updated. Nothing like a family guilt trip to make me blog again. I will post a summary of our Florida vacation in the days to come. Right now I have to focus on keeping Abigail, Adelyn , and Addison from hurting each other.

Children's Bell Choir

This is a video of Adelyn's first performance in front of the church. It also happened to be her first Sunday out of the nursery and in the 3 year old class . Yes, I realize she won't be 3 until August, but she had out grown the nursery and was ready to do structured church activities. Her teacher was a little concerned that her first day in a new class involved going up on stage, but we let the teacher know that Adelyn was not the shy type. Just to make sure, we told Abigail to watch over Adelyn. We should have known better than to give a directive like that. Adelyn tries so hard to be like her big sister, but just can't control her inner rebel. The video gets a little shaky at the end because I am laughing at the rule-following Abigail trying to control the free-spirited Adelyn.

Bedtime Reading

They say that a child's exposure to books is highly correlated to their success in school. I'm not sure that this is what they had in mind. In case you are curious, the total number I removed from her bed was 26!

Snow Day

Much to Abigail's delight, we finally had a big snow here in Avon. The final total was 12.4 inches and school was out for two days. Even when school is cancelled, Scott is supposed to go in; however, it didn't happen the first day. With all the snow we got, Scott couldn't get the car up the big hill in our neighborhood. He tried but only made it half way. So he took a vacation day and stayed home with us. Abigail and Scott went sledding at the local park later in the day and had a blast. On day two of the snow, I took the girls outside with some friends to play in the snow. They enjoyed it, although Adelyn couldn't walk in the snow because it was up to her waist.

When Is Bedtime?

The following video is proof that my children need to nap. This is only a two minute sample of the constant chatter and dancing that occures when sleep deprivation kicks in. All I can do is laugh or else I'd go insane.

The Plumber

With all the recent posts about her sister, Adelyn felt the need to do something to get attention. She makes us laugh!

Christmas Bells

We have officially become "those parents." Abigail took the stage for the first time at church along with the rest of the preschool class. Scott and I were armed with video camera and digital camera. Here is a sample of her performance (she's the one with her fingers in her mouth the entire time).
